Neotel’s data centre plans

Neotel is confident that it will provide an unbeatable value proposition.

Neotel recently revealed that it was constructing two state of the art data centres - one in Midrand, Gauteng and one in Diep River, Cape Town. The initial capacity of the Johannesburg and Cape Town data centres will be 1000 square metres, but they can scale to 6000 and 3000 square metres respectively.

One of the biggest issues when it comes to data centres in South Africa is the supply of adequate electricity, and this is one area where Neotel is confident it will trump all its competitors. According to Rajeev Sinha, head of products at Neotel, the new data centres will have sufficient electricity to supply their clients with 5.4kW of power per rack - higher than any other hosting provider in South Africa.
