Neotel has quietly launched a 5 GB NeoFlex offering. This is how it compares on price

Neotel launched its multi-user data service, NeoFlex Data, earlier this year. The service promises average downlink speeds of between 450 Kbps to 900Kbps and average uplink speeds of 300 Kbps to 700Kbps.

The service was initially launched in two flavours, namely a NeoFlex 10G and a NeoFlex 15G offering. NeoFlex 10G provides subscribers with 10 Gigabytes of data for R699-00 while NeoFlex 15G provides the customer with 15 Gigabytes of data per month for R899-00. Both packages are inclusive of a monthly device fee of R100-00 over 24 months.

These prices were somewhat higher than Neotel’s converged voice and data offering, Neotel NeoConnect Prime, drawing criticism from some quarters regarding the affordability of the service.

Neotel reacted to the market sentiment by adding a 5 GB NeoFlex package for R 499-00 per month – again inclusive of the device fee and VAT. Additional data usage remains at 8c/MB.
