Neotel confirms Cohen appointment

Neotel has announced the appointment of Dr Tracy Cohen as Executive Head of Regulatory Affairs

Neotel has announced the appointment of Dr Tracy Cohen as Executive Head of Regulatory Affairs, effective 1 September 2008.

Dr Cohen has just completed a term as a Councillor for the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA), where she held her position from July 2004 until June 2008. At ICASA, she was assigned a portfolio which entailed specific projects on market access and competition, including interconnection, facilities leasing and developing the competition framework required by the Electronic Communications Act.

She also served on various other ICASA committees including Telkom’s price cap review, community radio licensing and implementing the Ministerial Determinations of 2004 as well as various inquiry processes into mobile pricing, call termination and leased lines.
